Skim Spot Characteristics

Arguably the best and most consistent skim spot on the south coast of Devon. Works on S, SW and W swells. Offshore wind is NE.

For wave skimming look at 3 hours either side of high tide when the tide is on the slope. Low tide is sand skimming heaven.

Access

Can be hard to find - involves driving down a load of single track country lanes. Get on the Plymouth to Kingsbridge road, and follow the signs to St Anns Chapel, then the signs to Challaborough. Beach facilities include toilets, take away, and pub right on the beach (summer only)
